FAQ
1. What is chair yoga?
Chair yoga is yoga you do sitting down: simple, gentle and easy for anyone to follow. You don’t need a mat or workout clothes, so you can start right away, wherever you are. The movement adapts to your body, not the other way around. It’s ideal if you’d like to get moving gently, no experience or particular fitness level needed.
2. Do I need to be flexible?
Not at all.
That’s exactly what chair yoga is for. You’ll become more flexible step by step, with no pressure and at your own pace. That’s why it’s especially good for beginners and for anyone who’s never really felt at home in a classic yoga class. Every exercise is explained simply, and you do it in whatever way feels good for you.
3. Can I do chair yoga if I have back pain?
Yes, and that’s exactly where it really shines.
The gentle seated exercises strengthen your back muscles, ease tension in your neck and shoulders and improve mobility, all without putting strain on your back. Many participants say their pain has noticeably eased since they started practising regularly. If you’re dealing with other aches and pains, the exercises are adapted to you as well, so you only ever do what feels good for your body.
4. Was brauche ich für Sesselyoga?
Just a sturdy chair and comfy clothes you can move around in easily.
That’s it. No gym, no equipment, no special gear. Chair yoga works at home, at the office or on the go, because it fits so easily into everyday life.
